CSI [sē] [ĕs] [ī]
The scientific study of physical evidence at the scene of a crime.

Crime scene investigation is the science of forensics. Forensic scientists analyze every bit of a crime scene and gather all the physical evidence they can from it. This evidence can include soil, fibers, fingerprints, blood spatter, and chemical trace. They have even been called on to identify dinosaur bones, crimes committed centuries ago, or to determine the cause of death of historical celebrities such as ancient kings and pharaohs.
