Magnets [mag-nǝt]
A mass of iron, steel or other alloys that produces a magnetic field.

Magnets are objects whose atoms are specially lined up so they produce a magnetic field. They have a north and south pole. Opposite poles are attracted to one another and similar poles repel one another. Because of their unique properties, magnets are used in all sorts of ways that have changed our world.
