Science of Lewis & Clark ['sī-ənts] [ŭv] ['lōō-əs] [ănd] [klärk]
The documentation by Lewis and Clark of all the plants, animals, places and peoples they discovered during their journey west.

Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery had to do more than be on the lookout for danger — they had to keep their eyes open for new plants, animals, peoples, and places and keep a record of what they saw. They succeeded in mapping a route beyond the Mississippi River to the West Coast. They documented all their discoveries and drew maps of the rivers, canyons, ranges, forests, plains, plateaus, and mountains on their journey. They recorded the flora (plant) and fauna (animals), made geological and astronomical observations, and met with many Native American tribes during their journey.
