conclusion
in science, a decision, result or outcome based on observation. A conclusion is why you think something happened
control
things that are not changed in an experiment

experiment
a test that is made under controlled conditions to demonstrate a known truth, or examine the validity of a theory or hypothesis

hypothesis
a tentative explanation that is made by carefully examining observations or a set of facts and making an educated guess as to what the outcome might be

laboratory notebook
a journal kept during an experiment that contains all of your important ideas and information

material
an item needed to conduct an experiment

observation
looking at or watching things to find how they look or act

problem
a question to be solved or answered
procedure
a step to follow to conduct a controlled experiment

result
something that happens during an experiment

theory
a scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles that explains a set of phenomena
