- conclusion
- in science, a decision, result or outcome based on observation. A conclusion is why you think something happened
- control
- things that are not changed in an experiment

- experiment
- a test that is made under controlled conditions to demonstrate a known truth, or examine the validity of a theory or hypothesis

- hypothesis
- a tentative explanation that is made by carefully examining observations or a set of facts and making an educated guess as to what the outcome might be

- laboratory notebook
- a journal kept during an experiment that contains all of your important ideas and information

- material
- an item needed to conduct an experiment

- observation
- looking at or watching things to find how they look or act

- problem
- a question to be solved or answered
- procedure
- a step to follow to conduct a controlled experiment

- result
- something that happens during an experiment

- theory
- a scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles that explains a set of phenomena

- variable
- one thing that is changed in an experiment
