Simple Machines ['sim-pəl] [\mə-'shēns\]
A device with few or no moving parts.

With simple machines, humans have been able to create the wonders of the world, the pyramids, computers, even your jar of peanut butter. Simple machines include the lever, the inclined plane, the wedge, the pulley, the wheel and axle, and the screw. Combine these simple machines and you can create almost anything that makes work easier.
