Wolves [wəlvz]
Wild carnivorous mammals of the canid (dog) family that live and hunt in packs.

Wolves are loyal, affectionate and highly intelligent. Even though they are social among themselves, they usually avoid human contact. They defend their home range from intruders by scent-marking, body language and howling. Even though they are controversial, they play an important role in the ecology of Idaho. Scientists learn about them by studying their tracks and scent marks, and by using radio-telemetry and GPS to follow their movements.
